Use your experience to help others
Becoming a certified Peer Specialist is more than a career choice; it’s a commitment to walking alongside others in recovery. If you’ve experienced your own mental health or substance-use recovery journey, your story could be the key to supporting someone else’s.
We train more Peer Specialists than anyone else in Texas, and we’re here to help you get started.

Is Peer Support right for you?
Peer Support is powerful because it’s rooted in real-life experience. To become a certified Peer Specialist, you must have your own lived experience of recovery from mental health or substance-use challenges—and be willing to use your story to support others on their path.
To be eligible, you must also:
Be at least 18 years old
Be willing to share your recovery story in a supportive way
Demonstrate stability in your own recovery
Complete state-approved training and certification requirements
Commit to ethical, peer-led support practices
Not sure where to start? We've got you.
Whether you’re exploring Peer Support as a new career or ready to jump into training, we have dedicated programs to guide you.
