What is Peer Support?

Peer support is a collaborative approach to providing assistance and guidance, where individuals who have experienced similar challenges or circumstances come together to offer mutual support and understanding. It is based on the belief that those who have firsthand experience can provide unique insights and empathy that professional services may not always encompass.

Emotional Support

Peer support offers a safe and understanding space for individuals to express their emotions, receive validation, and find comfort in knowing others have faced similar challenges.

Shared Experience

Through peer support, individuals can benefit from the firsthand knowledge and insights of others who have successfully navigated similar situations, offering practical advice and strategies.

Empowerment and Growth

Peer support promotes personal growth, resilience, and self-advocacy by empowering individuals to take control of their own well-being and make informed decisions based on the experiences and perspectives shared by their peers.

GPS Your Way To Wellness

TUESDAYS @ 2:00 PM

This is a peer-led support group for individuals seeking to gain or maintain an optimal level of overall health. Techniques and strategies from each of the four areas will be discussed: physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual.

Dual Diagnosis

TUESDAYS @ 11 AM

This is a Peer-led support group for individuals living with mental health and substance use concerns. This unique, non-traditional group is open to the community at large and serves as a reassuring and enlightening space for those self identified with dual experiences.

NAMI Connection

WEDNESDAYS @ 2:00 PM

A peer-led support group for those living with mental health challenges.

Peer Support Specialist Cafe

THURSDAYS @ 6:00 PM

Peer Café is a peer-led weekly support group for any Mental Health Peer Specialist (MHPS), Recover Support Peer Specialist (RSPS), MHPS/RSPS Interns, and any other Peer Support or Recovery Support professionals. The purpose of Peer Café is to provide a safe space for peers to connect, debrief, and discuss the challenges and rewards of being a peer in the field. Peers need support too!
